Elsbeth juda was the associate editor and photographer for her husband’s magazine The Ambassador, The British Export Magazine. Her photographs are a poignant reminder of a bygone era of a new dawn of optimism in post war Britain. The magazine was on the offensive in terms of promoting British goods to export as well as chic and glamour. A form of cool Britannia was being cultivated. With Britain’s current trade deficit, Juda’s photographs still resonates today.
Her photographs are on display until June 7th 2009 at the L’Equipement Des Art gallery in London. For more information about the photographer or the exhibition go to www.elsbethjuda.com.
